Illinois employment lawyer Alia Choudhury is an experienced litigator and legal counselor. She graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in May 2012. She received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Elmhurst College. In 2013, Ms. Choudhury was admitted to the Illinois State Bar.
She started her career at Prairie State Legal Services, a legal aid agency, where she advised low income residents throughout the State of Illinois in various areas including: consumer fraud disputes, family law, and landlord/tenant disputes. Ms. Choudhury then joined Mitchell Legal Solutions where she focused primarily in representing clients in the areas of criminal, bankruptcy and family law.
In 2016, Ms. Choudhury accepted an employment discrimination investigator position at the Illinois Department of Human Rights (I.D.H.R.). As an investigator, she conducted numerous fact-finding conferences, complainant interviews and achieved the highest settlement rate in the department. In early 2017, Alia joined the Goldberg Law Group as their newest Associate Attorney practicing in the areas of family law and employment discrimination.
In the fall of 2017, she joined the Law Offices of Peter M. Lasorsa, P.C. as an associate primarily practicing employment law. She litigates work place harassment, discrimination and retaliation claims and successfully negotiates severance packages and benefits for terminated employees. Unlike many employment lawyers, Ms. Choudhury’s experience as a human rights investigator at I.D.H. R. gives her the unique understanding needed to handle various human rights discrimination cases.
Ms. Choudhury primarily handles cases in Northern Illinois, including the City of Chicago, DuPage, Kane, Cook, Lake and Will Counties, but welcomes inquiries from throughout Illinois and for employees from
